Gemini Horoscope for March 2016

By Susan Miller

March will turn out to be a big month for career progress, because this month a solar eclipse in Pisces will arrive on March 8, at 19 degrees, and will fall in your tenth house of prestigious career honors and achievement. Solar eclipses are ultra-powerful new moons that open a path and bring with them sudden opportunities and developments. They always require adjustment, however, even when the news is joyous.

If only you could see your chart! You have a crown of stars twinkling at the very apex of your chart, with the Sun (solar eclipse), new moon, Neptune, and Mercury filling your solar tenth house of career honors and awards. You may be on TV or the subject of a print article, or you may get a huge promotion, or if self-employed, bring in a glorious new client and become the talk of your industry. If you are in the film industry, your screenplay may be greenlighted for a film, or if you are in advertising, your campaign may be bought by the client and will soon be seen everywhere.

The Sun plays a major role in a solar eclipse, and for Gemini, the house that is ruled by the Sun (and Leo) is your third house of writing, communicating, and speaking. You may be working on book or important article or television project, or it may be a project that involves the Internet. You may be launching an app, new blog, or website, or updating one. It's also likely you will need to travel as a result of what you hear at this new moon, March 8 - get your suitcase ready with basic things you'll need so that when news comes, you can pack and go.

You have so much going for you. Pluto will be friendly to this eclipse, suggesting a big money deal may be coming your way. If you are not self-employed and work for others instead, your work may have a bonus attached to it, or you may be able to earn a generous commission. Alternatively, Pluto may help you negotiate fine company benefits, including excellent health insurance and vacation days.

Every Gemini of every birthday will be under the flow of this new moon solar eclipse. We had one very similar on March 8, 1997, so you might want to think back to what was happening then for clues, if you can remember.

The entire area of a business alliance or partnership of yours will suddenly go under the microscope because from March through late September, you will be working closely with one individual with whom you have formed an agreement, perhaps contractually, to work with, whether on a fee basis, commission, or to otherwise share profits. Mars will enter this part of your chart ruling your serious, committed partnerships of all kinds (ones that require a legal contract) from March 5 to early November. Note that during part of that period Mars will move backward into Scorpio, and that will be from May 27 to August 2. For all practical purposes, think of July as your month to focus on vital work projects, not so much your partner. Do not plan a vacation in July - you will be too busy at work to leave. August would be a better time for fun and travel. Of course, come August 2, your focus on your partner will need your attention until September 27, the time when Mars will finally leave Sagittarius and enter Capricorn.

If you are in a highly competitive situation, the time when Mars tours Sagittarius from March through late September, you will find the opposition to be very aggressive in their attempts to win market share, favorable attention from higher-ups, or from the press. I am sorry to have to report this, for it will be a strenuous period, but it is better to be forearmed. You will need to stay one step ahead of competitors but you can do it. Just because competitors are acting aggressively doesn't mean they have the smarts that you do. Gemini is known to be highly adaptable, flexible, and imaginative. You are also known to have razor-sharp intelligence, for you are ruled by Mercury, and can also run circles around competitors in any debate. Use your innate talents to stay out ahead. You have such an important new moon solar eclipse this month on March 8 that your meteoric rise may make some people jealous, explaining why you may need to beat off the competitors with a baseball bat. (Just kidding. I am not being literal, but you know what I mean.)

Saturn is in this same area of the chart as Mars, the seventh house that rules not only partnerships but also open enemies. When my Little Mom taught me astrology, I could never understand how your marriage partner and business partners could be in the same house as open enemies. These people should be one of your best parts of life, at least to my young mind. The answer is to look at how the planets are aspected to each other at any given time, and also to your own natal planets. If planets are harmonious, then you will easily find accord with your partner and outsmart your competitors so you can move forward. If the planets are in a challenging position, as Mars and Saturn will be at certain times in coming months, you will need to keep your wits about you, your guard up, and to find new ways to cope.

With Saturn opposed to your Sun, the old formulas that always worked won't work now - Saturn calls for innovative answers. I can't see your unique horoscope chart, but I can see that Saturn will be on a mission to teach you one or two life lessons this year and next (2017) regarding the nature of partnerships and competition. Every sign has Saturn moving though a part of their chart (somewhere), and for Gemini, this year and next, it will be focused on the seventh house of those who work with you or against you in a one-on-one relationship, in love or business.

With Mars in the seventh house, Mars can bring strife at times with your partner. If only because you will be together more than usual, perhaps working intensely on a project or goal together. Mars will retrograde on April 17 to June 29, not a time to launch new initiatives or enter into highly competitive situations. In retrograde, Mars will be weak, so you will have to supply all the energy that action-Mars is known to impart when moving in strong, forward orbit. Even after Mars turns direct at the end of June, he will be groggy until August 22. While Mars will finally resume full strength on August 22, one week later, August 30, your ruling planet, Mercury will go retrograde, until September 22. Let's just say that life won't move ahead in a speedy way until September 22, so this is another reason you should try to launch as many things as possible now in March.

Saturn in the seventh house can bring on a feeling that your partner is too conservative about trying new ideas, or simply too stubborn to move an inch. As a Gemini, you never run out of ideas, so the smart money will always be on you. When things get tough - and I am not saying they will, but if they do - you can always rely on your intelligence and on your ability to communicate superbly to win in the end. With Saturn in the seventh house, there is another way to read this situation. It may be that your partner is or will be moving through a tough patch and will need you to help him or her get past this situation. You may have to supply compassionate support, or even money, say, if it turns out to be your mate or other close partner you feel deserves it.

The second eclipse of the month, falling on March 23 in Libra 3 degrees, will light your fifth house of true love, children, and matters involving creativity. Something appears to be crystallizing after many weeks or months of special attention on your part. You may decide on the future of a romantic relationship that is fairly new, or if attached, whether to have a baby now. Full moons eclipses bring closure or endings. A creative project may now get wrapped up, and because this moon is in the partnering sign of Libra, it is very possible you did this project in concert with a collaborator, partner, or an entire entity, such as a web design company, as one of many possible examples. This will be a very positive eclipse, so no matter what emerges, you seem to benefit, if not immediately, in time.

The eclipse is in Libra, and Libra blends beautifully with Gemini, so if you were born within four days on May 24, you will benefit quite a bit from this eclipse, more than most Gemini. The same is true if you have Gemini rising, or a natal planet in Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius at 3 degrees plus or minus four degrees. A natal planet in similar degree in Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius will also benefit in a less direct, but still positive way.

The news of this eclipse may have already been delivered to you because, although most (70 percent) eclipses deliver news on or close to the day, some eclipses (15 percent or so) do so a month to the day beforehand, making that February 23, plus or minus four days, or after the eclipse (15 percent or so) bringing you to April 23, plus or minus four days.

If you are single and not dating yet, you will welcome March 2, March 20, and March 23, all days when Venus, the pretty-me planet, will scatter rose petals your way. These days will bring you the potential for a surprise, sparkling meeting on one of those days.

Now, let's talk about money. For that I will have to backtrack to the middle of March, for I want you to put a big gold star on the most fortunate day of the month, March 16. That's when Jupiter and Pluto will be in ideal sync. Big money planet Pluto will be in the house of other people's money, and good fortune Jupiter will be in your house of property, home, and family. You may get a large mortgage or home improvement loan, or you may get your bid accepted on your dream condo or house. Family support should be strong, so a parent or favorite aunt or uncle may help you out with a large loan or gift for something you want to do, such as to put a down payment on a house.

Overall, whether or not you are concerned about a property matter, March 16 would be a stellar day to initiate anything that you hope will grow into a big, profitable venture. Launch a new product or service, for example, or sign a contract, as long as your lawyer says you are ready to do so - this is a great day. Pluto, a big-money planet, in your house of other people's money, and Jupiter, the great good fortune planet, are rarely in touch, but will be at this time. If money is involved, think about using this rare day, March 16.

Now let have a look at what Mercury is doing this month. Every sign is ruled by a planet, and for Gemini, that's Mercury. Your ruling planet's activities in the heavens give me an idea of what life will be like for you. (No fears - Mercury is not retrograde in March - that will not happen until April 28 to May 22.) This month, Mercury will be a virtual Chatty Cathy, socializing with many planets, and the days listed will likely stand out for you. Let's look:

On March 4, you may criticize someone and then later you wish you could take your words back. That won't be possible, so be careful!

Creative brainstorming will be the perfect activity for March 10 when Mercury aligns with patron of the arts planet, Neptune. You'll come up with very original artistic ideas.

Don't sign a contract when Mercury and Saturn are at hard angles, such as on March 14 - finding accord will be a challenge and you may agree to points you will later regret.

Your research will go outstandingly well on March 15 when Mercury will work with Pluto. On that day, you'll be a whiz at getting to the bottom of things. When Mercury smiles sweetly at Saturn on March 29, you will have an ideal day for reorganizing files, closets, and life in general. On March 30 when Mercury will be at odds with Pluto you may feel pushed into agreeing to a plan you don't like. Resist!

I'll insert a reminder here: March 16 is when Jupiter and Pluto will make such a powerful, decisive aspect involving money! If you are writing down dates, you will want to include March 16, discussed earlier in this report.

Finally, one of the most sparkling of all Mercury days will be when Mercury conjoins electric Uranus on March 31 - a plethora of ideas will rain down on you, and one or two will be sheer genius. This would be a great day to do creative brainstorming with one or more team members.

Summary

You have the most exciting career month in years! A prestigious promotion or a new client, along with much loving publicity, will make this month a standout. Be ready to have all eyes on you just after the powerful solar eclipse of March 8 arrives to put you in the spotlight. Dear Gemini, it's your time to reach for the stars! In the days that follow the solar eclipse March 8, you will find opportunity, applause, and reward for years of work well done. Events will move very fast - so fast in fact that you will feel like you're on a fast-twirling carousel, and it will take all your energy to keep up. You may assume you know what will happen, but you don't - eclipses bring surprises. A partner, agent, manager, or broker may bring the opportunity to you.

At times a business partner may disagree with your approach, or a romantic partner may feel neglected. Proof of this may arise on March 5 when Saturn will be in hard angle to the Sun, a day when you may feel overwhelmed, overly criticized, or completely deflated. If you do need to add encouraging words to either partner, or work out a matter where you both can start to see eye-to-eye, choose to talk over Saturday, March 26. That is when Mars in Sagittarius and the Sun in Aries, fire signs, will be in ideal agreement and will be ideally suited to your air-sign element.

At the start of them month, Venus (popularity) will be at the tiptop of your chart at the mid-heaven. Venus will enter your professional sector on March 12, to stay until April 19. You will find that most people will applaud your burgeoning success; the people around you at the office (or your industry) will encourage you. Venus in this part of the chart points to what the ancient astrologers referred to as that of the benevolent ruler, where higher-ups and underlings alike treat you with respect and admiration. This month, dear Gemini, you can do no wrong.

Your love life or, alternatively, the welfare of a child will be your complete focus at the March 23 lunar full moon eclipse in Libra. Mars in Sagittarius will be beautifully oriented to this last eclipse in a long series of eclipses falling in Libra-Aries. The first in this series began on October 18, 2013, and your relationship(s) have been a focus ever since. If you aren't dating and don't have a child, and aren't interested in starting a pregnancy, then this eclipse will bring a creative project to the final stage of launch, and your creativity will be golden at this time.

If you are attached, Mars in Sagittarius now and in coming months will focus you strongly on your partner, and you can spend more quality time together. If you need to work out a sticky relationship matter, you will have until September to do so.

Financially, you have a sunny, bright day coming when powerhouse Pluto reaches out to the mighty Sun in your career sector. If you have to negotiate a fee, commission, advance, royalty, or petition venture capital, choose March 6 or the day leading to it, March 4 or 5.

Home and other property continues to be your lucky place in life. If you need to discuss a mortgage with your banker, schedule your appointment for March 16 when Jupiter and Pluto will be in divine sync, for you may be amazed at the attractive mortgage you will be offered. If you need to move, and rent, buy, or sell property, you are now in your best year in the decade to find a deal you'll find exciting. Keep looking, as you may settle on a spacious apartment or house on March 16. If not, you have until early September to make your choice. This year, you can make your home your castle. Support from family will be very strong for all your home-related goals, so your parent(s) may offer you a financial gift or loan to help you get started.
