   對R/O(rule out)的說明:

   used to indicate a differential diagnosis when one or more diagnoses are

   suspect; each possible diagnosis is outlined and either verified or

   eliminated after further testing is performed.

   For example:

   Diagnosis: R/O pancreatitis
              R/O gastroenteritis

   this indicates that either of these diagnoses is suspected and further
                       ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

   testing is required to verify or or eliminate one or both possibilities.


   所以它的解釋跟用法不就跟平常被批判的用法一樣嗎?


   這說明這樣的用法不是"台式英文"....
   美國醫護人員也很多都這樣說,
   (有看外國的影集就知道..)
   美國人沒必要模仿台灣的用法吧~~

   語文的東西很多是約定成俗的,
   這也許不是很標準的文法,
   但這是外國人看得懂用法, (甚至還寫在書裡)
   也不是台灣人發明的用法...

   R/O pancreatitis,
   你硬要用標準文法去解釋當然會解釋成要"排除"胰臟炎..
   但語文這東西本來就很難"標準化"...
   事實上R/O pancreatitis 就等於 suspect pancreatitis..
   這是一個習慣用法,
   你我交接班看病歷大家都看得懂, 外國人也看得懂..
   不就很happy了?
   主任查房電這個,
   真的是吃飽撐著,
   說這是"台式英文"的才是根本沒去了解外國人怎麼說吧~

   所以每天幹巧R/O實在沒什麼必要...
   就像前面有人說的,
   ON NG ON FOLEY ON CVP這些更怪的才該拿出來鞭吧~
