1. State the CSMA/CD protocol.
2. Measurements of a pure ALOHA channel with an infinite number of users show that 10 percent of the time the channel is idle.
(a)What is the channel load G?
(b)What is the throughput?
(c)Is the channel under loaded or overloaded?
3. A multiple access systems with infinite users using random access protocol, such pure ALOHA, CSMA/CD etc. Are they stable? Explain your answer.
4. State the Binary Exponential Backoff Algorithm.
5. What is the purpose using the Binary Exponential backoff algorithm.
6. Consider building a CSMA/CD network running at 2.5Gb/s over 1-Km cable with no repeater. The signal speed is 2/3 of the speed of light
in the free space. What is the minimum frame size?
7. Why do all Ethernet systems use Manchester encoding?
